### THE CHALLENGE
A multi‑unit Pizza Cottage franchise owner, Chris Ramsey, needed to replace aging HVAC systems and improve energy efficiency across his portfolio, but faced limited capital. Without the time or resources to oversee installations, maintenance, and performance monitoring, he needed a solution that could reduce energy costs without disrupting daily operations.
**Key challenges included:**
• Limited upfront capital for energy efficiency improvements
• High costs and logistical complexity of HVAC replacement across multiple locations
### THE SOLUTION
Budderfly partnered with Pizza Cottage to modernize its energy infrastructure by installing 124 solutions across Ramsey’s portfolio, removing the financial and operational burden and delivering substantial performance improvements.
**Installed Solutions Include:**
11 HVAC replacements
12 LED lighting upgrades
60+ refrigeration system enhancements

**688,000 kWh in energy savings**
The partnership has already delivered over 688,000 kWh in energy savings, the equivalent of powering more than 60 U.S. homes for a full year.
**462 mts of CO₂ avoided**
Ramsey’s restaurants have avoided 462 metric tons of CO₂ emissions, equal to 52,027 gallons of gasoline consumed by a passenger vehicle.
