Brighter Spaces, Energy Savings: Dunkin’ Optimizes Lighting with Budderfly’s ReLED Program

A California Dunkin’ location partnered with Budderfly to enhance lighting efficiency and performance through Budderfly’s ReLED program. The program focuses on delivering energy savings and better illumination—two essentials for quick-service restaurants where quality service, comfortable spaces, and customer experience are essential.

 

THE CHALLENGE

In the QSR industry, lighting plays a critical role. From dining areas to prep zones, lighting directly impacts both customer experience and operational efficiency.

Outdated Lighting

Even restaurants with LED systems already in place may face hidden inefficiencies. Aging bulbs dim over time; outdated models draw more power than necessary, and uneven brightness affects the look and feel of the space.

This Dunkin’ location saw an opportunity to get ahead of those challenges and to ensure their lighting remained as efficient as the rest of their operation.


BUDDERFLY’S SOLUTION

Budderfly’s ReLED program begins with an evaluation of existing LED systems to identify optimization opportunities, such as upgrading to newer-generation LEDs that deliver greater efficiency and more consistent brightness. After assessing the location’s current setup, Budderfly recommended targeted fixture replacements and performance upgrades designed to:

• Improve lighting consistency and visual comfort

• Further reduce overall energy consumption

• Extend fixture lifespan and lower maintenance frequency

The project was completed quickly and seamlessly, allowing Dunkin’ to continue serving customers without downtime.


RESULTS

Through Budderfly’s ReLED program, the Dunkin’ location is projected to achieve:
